After a 6-hour, bumpy, long drive through the night, we finally made it into El Nido. It was about 11:30pm when got into town and we had no hotel reservations. We hadn’t even done any research about what our options where.
Luckily, our driver knew of a few places. After looking at a couple budget hotels, he brought us to the El Nido Beach Hotel. We woke up the caretaker (the front desk is closed at night, but you can ring the bell to wake someone up) and he showed us the room. It was expensive, (around 4500 pesos per night I think) but it that point I just wanted to lie down and go to sleep.
When it came down to it, the place was clean and semi-modern looking. A big step up from the other places we looked at.
When we woke up and looked outside, we were amazed to see this view from our room.
