The Surla Hotel in Angeles City is a small 10-room hotel that just opened in 2010. I didn’t get to stay here personally, but visited a few times while my parents were in town to visit me.
Although the hotel had only been open a few weeks, my parents decided to stay here because it was only a half block to my apartment and had a great grand opening promo rate of 900 pesos per night for a Deluxe Room.
The beds are a bit hard, but that’s just the way I like it. The rooms are very simple with just the bare necessities. There is cable TV, free WiFi and free parking if needed.
The resto bar only served a basic breakfast and ordered in from another restaurant for all other times of the day. You can get drinks 24 hours a day, although the selection is very limited.
The Surla Hotel is only a few minute walk to the famous Fields Avenue (aka Walking Street), the center of the Angeles City nightlife. I suggest only walking to and from Fields during the day, at night it can be a little unsafe.

How to get to The Surla Hotel, Angeles City, Philippines
From Clark
The DMIA in Clark is only 3 miles west from Angeles City. You can take a 20-30 minute taxi ride from the airport down to Hotel Surla.
From Manila
Angeles City only a couple of hours away from Ninoy Aquino International Airport via the NLEX (North Luzon Expressway). Enter the NLEX from Balintawak. When you get onto the NLEX you will be just about 50 minutes away from Angeles City. Take the Angeles exit.
If you’re taking public transit, you can take almost any bus heading north. You’ll need to take one that makes a stop at Dau. From there you can take a trike to the hotel for about 100 pesos.
