Normally, I would say a mall is a mall.
Greenbelt Mall in Makati City, however, is no ordinary mall.
Sure, it has all the usual stores and restaurants ranging from medium to high quality. It has the mall rats taking advantage of the air conditioning and getting out of the mid day heat. It has people spending money on things they probably don’t need. I don’t really want to get into what stores are in the mall.
What sets it apart from other malls is the park-type feel in the center of the mall.
Greenbelt is separated into 5 different sections, all named 1,2,3,4 and 5. The buildings form an oval surrounding the creek and trees in the center of the mall. Grab a coffee and sit on a bench, far away from the noise and hustle of traffic.
You really feel like you’re out of the city.
The next time you go to Makati, spend a few hours here. Grab a bite to eat in Greenbelt 4 for lunch, then, go to Greenbelt 3 where you can get a coffee or dessert. Find a bench or just sit next to the creek. Enjoy.
