After a few hot and wet months in Pampanga I decided to treat myself to a weekend in luxury. My local friend had a resident special where his second room would be at a significantly reduced rate. Since I love discounts, as I’m sure you do too, I hardly had to think twice.
The Makati Shangri-La is right in the heart of Makati’s (and Manila’s) financial and business district. Love this area. It’s super close to the airport, only about 20 minutes away. There are a bunch of great hotels and restaurants, many of whom are renowned for there lunch and dinner buffets. Best of all, two of my favorite malls are only blocks away. Glorietta Mall is just across the street, with Greenbelt Mall just a skywalk over Makati Ave from there.
The hotel is pretty big. When you walk in there is a large open lobby with two large staircases leading to the second floor. In the center of the lobby is a fresh floral display that seems to get changed everyday. Many of the restaurants and lounges can be access from different areas of the lobby.

Sometimes its the little things that really make your stay memorable. Not only do they make up your room each day but they’ll set out your slippers and prepare your bed for the night while you’re out for dinner. Also, fresh fruit is placed in your room each day. Below is Dalanghita, its an orange but green on the outside.
